Abstract	Malobrojna istraživanja koja su ispitivala odnos perfekcionizma i problema spavanja, ukazala su na mogućnost da je perfekcionizam predisponirajući faktor za razvoj problema spavanja. Stoga je cilj ovog istraživanja bio ispitati odnos između pozitivnog i negativnog perfekcionizma i problema spavanja kod studenata. Istraživanje je provedeno na 286 studenta Sveučilišta J.J.Strossmayera u Osijeku. Prikupljeni su sociodemografski podaci, podaci o kvaliteti i obrascima spavanja u posljednjih mjesec dana korištenjem Pittsburgh indeksa kvalitete spavanja (Buysse, Reynolds, Monk, Berman i Kupfer, 1989) te podaci o izraženosti pozitivnog i negativnog perfekcionizma korištenjem Ljestvice pozitivnog i negativnog perfekcionizma (Terry-Short, Owens, Slade i Dewey, 1995). U istraživanju je utvrđeno da je negativni perfekcionizam povezan sa slabijom subjektivnom kvalitetom spavanja, kraćim trajanjem spavanja, slabijim dnevnim funkcioniranjem te ukupnim rezultatom koji predstavlja zbroj pojedinačnih problema spavanja. S druge strane, pozitivni perfekcionizam nije se pokazao značajno povezanim niti s jednom komponentom spavanja. Nadalje, pokazalo se da se dobri i loši spavači međusobno značajno razlikuju i na pozitivnom i na negativnom. Dobri spavači postižu više rezultate na pozitivnom perfekcionizmu u odnosu na loše spavače, a razlika među grupama još je veća na negativnom perfekcionizmu gdje loši spavači postižu više rezultate. Dobiveni rezultati sugeriraju da negativni perfekcionizam ima ulogu u problemima spavanja dok se za pozitivni perfekcionizam može reći da ima zaštitnu funkciju.
Abstract (english)	Few studies that have examinated the relationship between perfectionism and sleep problems, pointed to the possibility that perfectionism is predisposing factor for the development of sleep problems. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine the relationship between positive and negative perfectionism and sleep problems among students. The study was conducted on 286 students at the University of Osijek. Sociodemographic data, data on the quality and patterns of sleep in the last month using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (Buysse, Reynolds, Monk, Berman i Kupfer, 1989) and the data about the expression of positive and negative perfectionism using Positive and Negative Perfectionism Scale (Terry-Short, Owens, Slade i Dewey, 1995) were collected. The study found that negative perfectionism is associated with poorer subjective sleep quality, shorter sleep duration, poorer daily functioning, and total score which represents the sum of the individual sleep problems. On the other hand, positive perfectionism has not proved significantly associated with any component of sleep. Furthermore, it turned out that good and poor sleepers differ significantly on positive and negative perfectionism. Good sleepers scored higher results on positive perfectionism in relation to the poor sleepers, and the difference between groups was even greater at negative perfectionism where poor sleepers scored higher results. Obtained results suggest that negative perfectionism plays a role in sleep problems while for positive perfectionism can be said to have a protective function.
