Abstract
Svrha rada je predstaviti najosnovnije značajke MODS sheme metapodataka. U skladu sa svrhom, cilj rada je najprije ukratko opisati neke najosnovnije pojmove kada se govori o metapodacima te potom opširnije prikazati samu MODS shemu metapodataka. U uvodnom dijelu rada opisani su najosnovniji pojmovi vezani uz metapodatke: koncept metapodatka, informacijski objekt, shema metapodataka i interoperabilnost. Nadalje, u radu se potom opširnije govori o MODS shemi metapodataka. Najprije je dan osvrt na neke osnovne informacije o samoj MODS shemi metapodataka, a zatim su obrađena glavna svojstva ove sheme kao i njena primjena u pojedinim zajednicama. Nakon toga, ukratko je opisan i svaki osnovni MODS element. U radu su prikazana i dva primjera, prvi se odnosi na izvadak MODS zapisa, a drugi prikazuje mapiranje elemenata MODS sheme metapodataka s elementima MARC 21.
