Abstract
La lingua italiana è lingua ufficiale anche fuori dai confini della Repubblica Italiana. Infatti, l’italiano è lingua ufficiale anche nella Repubblica di San Marino, nella Città del Vaticano, in Italia, in Croazia e in Svizzera. La Svizzera italiana è un’area geografica situata al nord della Confederazione Svizzera che consiste in due cantoni svizzeri, il Canton Ticino e il Canton dei Grigioni in cui la lingua italiana gode dello status di lingua ufficiale. Soltanto nell’ultimo decennio si è iniziato a dare più importanza alla terza lingua più parlata sul territorio svizzero. La tesi di laurea propone in otto capitoli un’analisi dello stato dell’arte della lingua italiana in Svizzera riportando anche i risultati di recenti indagini sulla lingua italiana in Svizzera che possono essere utili per indagare aspetti dell'italiano parlato fuori dall'Italia. Ogni capitolo tratta diverse particolarità, tra cui l’analisi delle zone in cui la lingua italiana è presente come lingua ufficiale, il panorama linguistico della Svizzera con i risultati degli ultimi censimenti federali riguardanti le lingue ufficiali e le varietà linguistiche, e la revisione della Costituzione, delle leggi federali e dell’Ordinanza sulle lingue nazionali e altri documenti di carattere legislativo.
Abstract (english)
The Italian language is also an official language outside the borders of the Italian Republic. In fact, Italian is an official language in the Republic of San Marino, the Vatican City, Italy, Croatia and Switzerland. The Italian-speaking part of Switzerland is a geographic area in the north of the Swiss Confederation that consists of two Swiss cantons, Canton Ticino and Canton Graubünden, where Italian enjoys the status of the official language. It is only in the last decade that more importance has begun to be attached to the third most widely spoken language in Switzerland. In eight chapters, the thesis offers an analysis of the state of the art of the Italian language in Switzerland. It also reports on the results of recent surveys on the Italian language in Switzerland that may be useful for investigating aspects of Italian spoken outside Italy. Each chapter deals with various particularities, including an analysis of the areas in which Italian is present as an official language, the linguistic landscape of Switzerland with the results of the latest federal censuses of official languages and language varieties, and the revision of the Constitution, federal laws and the Ordinance on National Languages and other legislative documents.
