Abstract
Ovaj rad istraživat će višestruki utjecaj TikToka na glazbenu industriju. Ispitati će se kako je platforma promijenila glazbenu produkciju, promociju i distribuciju te istražiti šire implikacije na glazbenike i njihovu publiku koji su prisutni na spomenutoj platformi. Osim literature koja ima za cilj pridonijeti definiranju glazbe i njezinom nastanku, praćeni su trendovi i proučavan je sadržaj samih TikTokera i glazbenika (npr. Charlie Puth, Doja Cat, Kim Dracula) kako bi se dobio uvid u koju svrhu se koristi glazba te kako publika reagira i komunicira njome. Kroz kombinaciju kvalitativnih i kvantitativnih metoda istraživanja, koje se sastoje od provođenja intervjua s pet osoba i provođenja ankete na uzorku od četrdeset ispitanika, cilj je pružiti sveobuhvatnu analizu uloge TikToka u razvoju popularne glazbe te utvrditi je li to platforma putem koje se glazba diseminira i izvodi ili je to platforma koja predstavlja i oglašava glazbu i glazbenike te drži popularni moment popularnim.
Abstract (english)
This paper will explore the multiple impact of TikTok on the music industry. It will examine how this platform has changed music production, promotion and distribution, and explore the wider implications for musicians and their audiences present on the platform. In addition to the literature aimed at contributing to the definition of music and its origins, trends were followed and the content of TikTokers and musicians (e.g. Charlie Puth, Doja Cat, Kim Dracula) was studied in order to gain an insight into the purpose for which music is used and how the audience reacts and communicates with it. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods, consisting of conducting interviews with five people and conducting a survey on a sample of forty respondents, the aim is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the role of TikTok in the development of popular music and to determine whether it is a platform through which music is disseminated and performed or whether it is a platform that represents and advertises music and musicians and keeps the popular momentum popular.
