Abstract
Biomasa se ubraja u nekonvencionalne, obnovljive izvore energije i predstavlja značajan potencijal kako u svijetu tako i u Republici Hrvatskoj. Ona predstavlja biorazgradivi dio proizvoda, koji se može ponovno koristiti na način da nije suviše štetan za prirodu i okoliš. Prednost biomase u odnosu na sve ostale obnovljive izvore energije je ta što se može koristiti u svom prirodnom obliku (npr. ogrjevno drvo). Republika Hrvatska svojim raznolikim reljefom i bogatstvom prirodnih resursa obiluje biomasenim potencijalom kojega ovisno o lokalitetu i izvoru treba koristiti na održiv način. Optimalno korištenje biomase doprinosi i razvoju državnih regija i otvaranju novih radnih mjesta u domaćoj industriji, šumarstvu i poljoprivredi; što je od posebnog značaja za Republiku Hrvatsku.
Abstract (english)
Biomass makes part of unconvential, renewable sources of energy and constitutes significant energy potential both globally and in the Republic of Croatia. It is a biodegradable part of a product that can be reused in a way that is less harmful for nature and the environment. The advantage of biomass compared to all other renewable energy sources is that it can be used in its natural form (eg firewood). The Republic of Croatia with its diverse relief and wealth of natural resources abounds with biomass potential which depending on the locality and particular source should be used in a sustainable manner. Optimum use of biomass also contributes to development of regions and creating new job opportunities in domestic industrial sectors, forestry and agriculture, that being of particular significance for the Republic of Croatia.
