Abstract
Rad izlaže temeljne odrednice djela Teorija pravde Johna Rawlsa i Anarhija, država i utopija Roberta Nozicka, koja čine najpoznatije teorije suvremene političke filozofije. U uvodnom se djelu rada sažeto iznose temeljna filozofska obilježja pojedinih društveno-političkih paradigmatskih smjena tijekom povijesti kako bi se autori smjestili u širi kontekst političke filozofije te ujedno ukazalo i na njezinu akademsku važnost. Nadalje se u radu uspoređuju glavni normativni elementi tih teorija koji se ponajviše ogledavaju u suprotstavljenim normativnim implikacijama Rawlsovog načela razlike u prvotnom stanju i Nozickove teorije ovlaštenja dobrovoljnih razmjena u minimalnoj državi. Zaključno, rad ukazuje na nemogućnost epistemološke procjene moralne ispravnosti iznesenih teorija pravednosti te umjesto toga predlaže razmatranje tih normativnih modela kroz vid njihove eventualne primjerenosti u suvremenim liberalno-demokratskim društvima.
Abstract (english)
The paper analyses the basic theoretical frameworks of John Rawls’ A Theory of Justice and Robert Nozick’s Anarchy, State and Utopia, which constitute the most famous theories of contemporary political philosophy. The introductory part of the paper presents brief philosophical characteristics of various socio-political paradigm shifts throughout history, in order to place the authors in the broader context of political philosophy and to highlight its academic value. Furthermore, the paper compares the main normative elements of these theories, primarily reflected in the contrasting normative implications of Rawls’s difference principle in the original position and Nozick’s theory of entitlement through voluntary exchange in the minimal state. Finally, the paper demonstrates the impossibility of an epistemological evaluation of the moral rightness of the presented theories of justice and suggests instead that these normative models could be considered in terms of their potential appropriateness in contemporary liberal democratic societies.
