The purpose of Waldorf pedagogy is the education to freedom which means that the child is a free being so we must be able to provide a stimulating environment for the child to develop freely. Furthermore, it is based on the pedagogy anthroposophy of the founder Rudolf Steiner. A human is seen as a tripartite being that consists of body, spirit and soul. Steiner emphasizes the extremely important role of an educator because they provide a model that children can imitate, therefore educators must provide a good example and they need to be a good role model for all children. Furthermore, the task of the educator is not to interfere in the child's "I", but to provide a positive and supportive environment and stimulating materials. Artistic activities are of great importance to the development of the child. These include art activities, musical activities, eurhythmy and life-practical activities. Children in art activities use natural processed and unprocessed materials. In musical activities preschoolers use pentatonic scale and children’s harp, with eurhythmy which represents art movements. Children through music, dance and movement are developing a sense of rhythm. Using life-practical activities the children acquire work habits that will be needed in future life. Through these artistic activities a child is realized as a person, developing its “I”, frees its mind, develops creativity, imagination and individuality.
