This study focuses on the subject of cosmic education as a component of Montessori pedagogy. Maria Montessori is a physician, pedagogue, and anthropologist who devoted her whole life to studying children. Her life work has been fruitful and she is one of the most well-known names in in the world of pedagogy. Maria Montessori looked at the child through a contemporary prism, she was aware of the changing needs of the child depending on the society. Nowadays, even 100 years after the founding of Montessori pedagogy, its principles are a starting point for understanding the child's development and upbringing. The main purpose of this study was to explore and describe the characteristics of cosmic education as a component of Montessori pedagogy. Cosmic education was born on the basis of scientific observation of nature, culture, and society, including evolutionary theory. Children watch and explore the world and learn how to become a responsible part of the world. Adults help the child understand its place in the universe and on Earth and build up the interrelationship between man and nature. The issue of "education" begins with the way in which adults will familiarize children with their role in the world. Self-awareness and conscience of children can be developed through various games and work appropriate to their age. Montessori understands the child as a uniquely live being, which through its action supports the harmony of the universe. By understanding basic knowledge and developing gratitude for all that exists, children will be responsible to nature and culture for the purpose of acting for the benefit of mankind.
