This paper outlines the roles that an educator plays in the development and design of educational projects in kindergarten. Starting with the theoretical framework of curriculum, work on project and the conception of the latter, the aim was to outline the roles that an educator needs to play in order to achieve the goal of an educational project, but among other things, the competencies they should have as a partner in the project were also shown. The importance of the context of the educational institution formed by the physical environment and the social context made up of relationships among children, relationships among adults, but most importantly the relationships between the child and the adult (educator), is also presented. These relationships stand out as a prerequisite for the development of children and the way the educational process is organized, where one of the many roles of educators in the project is also manifested. In addition, the incentives the educator uses to respond to children's needs by directly or indirectly participating in children's activities are presented, emphasizing the importance of their flexibility. The incentives provided by the educator have been shown to be of paramount importance in the development of the child and his or her competences in terms of encouraging collaborative learning, thinking, argumentation, independent research, and encouragement for planning one's own activities. At the very end, in the practical part, the roles of the educator realized through the project "African Story" in the branch facility "Adriana" of the kindergarten "Grigor Vitez", are presented.
