Abstract
U ovom završnom radu opisuju se značajke najboljeg baroknog epa Oslobođeni Jeruzalem talijanskog pjesnika Torquata Tassa. Za taj su ep važne povijesne okolnosti u kojima je nastao. Nakon reformacije počinje obnova Katoličke Crkve koja vraća svoj utjecaj na mnoga područja života, uključujući i književnost. Počinje nova književna epoha - barok u kojoj je najvažniji književni žanr ep zbog toga što on najbolje odgavara zahtjevima katoličke obnove. Cilj mu je svojom temom, najčešće slavni povijesni događaj, uzdizati naciju i vjeru najviše kroz sudbine junaka koji su uzor svim ljudima. U Hrvatskoj, katolička obnova ima veliki utjecaj pa se javljaju mnogi pisci, a najbolji među njima je Ivan Gundulić čije je najvažnije djelo ep Osman, napravljen pod velikim utjecajem Tassovog epa. Središnja tema ovog završnog rada je prikaz junaštva u Oslobođenom Jeruzalemu kao jednog od najvažnijih elemenata epa. Tassovi junaci nisu tipični, savršeni, nego puni mana i grijeha, potpuno različiti od onih u drugim epovima, ali i međusobno. Tasso je stvorio čitav niz velikih junaka i junakinja pa ne čudi ogroman utjecaj koji je ovaj ep imao na slijedeće epove, a i na čitavu književnost nakon Tassa.
Abstract (english)
This final paper describes the features of the best Baroque epic Jerusalem Delivered by Italian poet Torquato Tasso. The historical circumstances in which it was made are important for this epic. After the Reformation, the restoration of the Catholic Church begins, which returns its influence on many areas of life, including literature. A new literary age begins - the Baroque, in which the most important literary genre is epic because it completely matches with the demands of Catholic Revival. The epic with its topic, most often a glorious historical event, aims to uplift the nation and faith most through the destinies of heroes who are role models to all people. In Croatia, Catholic Revival has great influence, many writers appear, and the best among them is Ivan Gundulic, whose most important work is the epic Osman, made under the great influence of Tasso's epic. The central theme of this final paper is the portrayal of heroism in Jerusalem Delivered as one of the most important elements of the epic. Tasso's heroes are not typical, perfect, but full of flaws and wrongdoings completely different from those in other epics, but also with each other. Tasso has created a whole host of great heroes and heroines, so it is not surprising that this epic has had the huge impact on the following epics, as well as on the entire post-Tasso literature.
