Ovim istraživanjem, provedenog u srpnju 2019.g., kvalitativnim pristupom koristeći polustrukturirani intervju nastojali smo saznati razloge migriranja mladih ljudi u razvijenije zemlje Zapadnih zemalja poput Njemačke, SAD-a i Irske. |
Abstract (english) | As a process, migrations have been known to people ever since the beginning of the human race, but the very nature of migrations has significantly changed throughout history. In the distant past, migrations were mostly driven by environmental factors (climate, food availability, and other) while today, in the era of globalization and with growing networking of the world and people, migrations nature transformed. Croatian people has had a historical tendency to emigrate, and the Republic of Croatia has a well developed practice of emigration. However, ever since Croatia joining the EU, migration has become an increasingly common practice of a growing number of young people. This research, conducted in July 2019 using the qualitative approach through a semiconstructed interview, explored the reasons of young Croatians for emigrating to more developed countries of the West (Germany, USA, Ireland). With the current social changes, and economic and political circumstances in Croatia in mind, five interviewees are asked about their reasons to migrate, and experience when leaving and starting a life in a new country and culture. |
