Knowledge of the first aid procedures is one of the key knowledges that can play an important role in saving someone’s life and therefore the acquisition of that knowledge must be promoted from an early age. An important role of school education, as well as school educators, is to educate individuals/children about first aid procedures that can help others, but also about self-help procedures. When sudden health problems or accidents occur at school, teachers are usually the only ones who can and must respond in a timely manner to prevent more serious consequences for the child's health. This is why it is important that teachers, but also all educators, are adequately educated and trained to provide first aid, which is also morally and legally binding. By organizing creative workshops, educations and courses on the topic of first aid in school, both for pupils and teachers, it contributes to the general literacy of the population on this topic. The research mentioned in the paper tried to determine the amount of acquired theoretical knowledge of the students of the Teacher education from Faculty of Philosophy in Split about the procedures of providing first aid. Teachers' students, as future teachers, must be aware of the responsibilities of this job and must be able to see the importance that is especially emphasized in this paper, and that is the importance of continuous education about first aid procedures. Despite insufficient education, students showed sufficient acquired knowledge of first aid procedures. Also, the acquired knowledge of students of lower and higher academic years was compared and the acquired knowledge of students who passed the driving test and those who did not pass. It was established that there is no difference in the acquired theoretical knowledge between students, neither regarding to age (year of study), nor regarding to taking the driving test, and it was concluded that for these two hypotheses it is necessary to conduct more extensive research.
