In the beginning, puppets were intended for adults and later on they started to get produced for children which remained to be the case to this day. The puppet turned out to be a very useful medium in a child's development and it is almost impossible to come across a preschool institution which does not incorporate puppets today. Children can make the puppet themselves or it can be bought. Some puppets which are appropriate to make with preschool children are: rod puppet, marionette, finger puppet, shadow puppet, guignol and yawning puppet. The puppet has a great impact on the child's full development while the child is creating it, but also afterwards, during the use. It provides a sense of security and it is like a friend who is always there, including being someone to whom a child can confide in without the feeling of being judged. Finger puppets are a type of puppet which are very easy to make with preschool children and it is possible to make them in a very short period of time. They provide language and speech development, development of social and emotional competences, positive narratives, independence and so on. There are numerous fingerplays which can be used as an introduction to creating or using finger puppets. Therefore, it is also possible to use some of them during the animation with finger puppets.
