Communication between educators and parents on the impact of media violence against children The realization of cooperation and partnership with parents of children is among te basic competencies of educators. Many factors that appear on both sides depend on the level and quality of this cooperation, however, mutual communication is needed for successful communication. Such relationships should be based on mutual acceptance, respect, understanding, honesty and tolerance. Parents and educators are two key systems of children lives in the early childhood and as such, they have the greatest impact on their overall development. The topic of children's exposure to the media and media violence has been a frequent subject of research in numerous studies whose findings indicate negative effects on children. In this thesis, a survey was conducted on 75 educators from the Split-Dalmatia County who expressed their views on cooperation and communication with parents about media violence against children. It was concluded that educators encounter inappropriate behaviors of children almost every day, which they believe are a product of media violence against children, and that their parents are mostly unaware of this impact. Most educators talked to parents about this topic in various forms. Most prefer individual conversations, while others turn to parent-teacher meetings or workshops and seminars. The research showed that educators are mostly satisfied with the cooperation with childrens parents.
