Uz
daljnjeg školovanja, manjak privatnosti, višak slobodnog vremena i nezaposlenost.
Abstract (english) | When talking about life on an island, it can be said that its inhabitants live a specific
way of life, and that it is determined by living in a unique space. Podgorelec (2008) notes that
each island lives according to its own different customs, regulations and laws, and also notes
the inability of the island's inhabitants to overcome the conditions that nature has set for them.
With all the favorable factors and imaginings of life on the island as idyllic and harmonious, it
should be pointed out that everyday life on the island and its communities face various
problems and limitations every day. The results of the research indicate that the island of Hvar,
as well as many other Croatian islands and rural areas, are perceived by young people as areas
that, apart from the recognized natural potential for the development of tourism, have many
shortcomings and obstacles to realizing their life prospects. Young people suggest the lack of
sports and entertainment activities as the biggest problems on the island, that is, the lack of
resources for quality leisure time, and poor transport connections. To a large extent, the
impossibility of further education, are also cosidered significant, excess free time and
unemployment are also considered problems. Regarding the issue of spending free time, the
results showed that young people spend most of their free time with friends. When assessing
the quality of life, almost half believe that life is generally good. Also, almost all respondents
believe that the dialect is a treasure of the tradition of every place and island, and that they are
emotionally attached to their place, that is, the island. |
