Design is everywhere around us and refers to making things better, shaping environment so we need to care about design and for design. Design is interdisciplinary and ergonomically shaped, its purpose is to adjust products that are designed to human needs and fill up certain purpose. We differenciate many designs – graphical, industrial and textile design. Pupils need to be stimulated on creativity and innovation and nwwd to be tought to design environment around them. Art class programme Applied modelling – design is interesting and challenging to students, it needs to be cherished and realised the right way. As a part of this thesis the research was carried out about design on 197 class teachers. Goal of research was to test out attitudes, opinions and knowledge of class teachers about and towards desing in art class programme Applied modelling – design. The results of research, analyzed by different lenghts of service, showed that highest degree of agreement among teachers that had lower lenght of service, but their results don't deviate much from the results of other teachers with different lenghts of service. In Applied modelling – design, regardless of the service lenght, teachers most often give pupils painting techniques and least sculpture techniques and all of them have positive opinion about applied modelling – design as area of art class. The degree of agreement on the claims, nearest to expected, gave teachers with lowest lenght of service, 0 – 5 years. In general, teachers are not considered fully educated for teaching this area of art class.
