Over the last few generations, the society of the Western world has been gradually moving away from the sacred, and then from religion and the Church, replacing them with science and technology. The leaders of this trend are young people who, spending more and more time on the Internet and social networks, get to know these trends and adopt them much before the older generations. But the Croatian society, which is still traditional, resisted many global trends for a long time. Therefore, the question arises where our society stands on the issue of the sacred, especially among young people. In order to gain a closer insight into the stated situation, a semi-structured interview was applied to four participants in the age group between 20 and 30 years old. Among the mentioned participants there are two women and two men. Based on this analysis, we learned that although religiosity is still present in our society, most young people have problems with the concept of the sacred. This is especially troubling if we consider that the sacred is essentially a religious experience. Weak knowledge of the essence of Christianity and religion among the participants was also highlighted. Impressions and experiences of religion are positive, which cannot be said for the institution of the Church, which has slowly lost the sympathy of its participants due to numerous scandals.
