Abstract
U radu se obrađuju okultističko-mistične pripovijesti kojima se Ksaver Šandor Gjalski javio krajem 19. stoljeća. Pod utjecajem Schopenhauera i vlastite sudbine posvetio se pitanjima ljudske duše i života nakon smrti. Motivi koji su mu u tome najviše pomogli bili su slutnje, odnosno predosjećaji, snovi te dvojništvo. U tom tonu napisao je nekoliko pripovijetki, od kojih je najpoznatija „San doktora Mišića“ iz 1890. godine. U kasnijim ostvarenjima je kombinirao različite mistične elemente koje je u Snu doktora Mišića po prvi puta iznio, ali kroz različite radnje i različite likove. Njima je stvorio most između staroga i novoga vremena donoseći u hrvatsku prozu dah modernizma koji će se najviše afirmirati dolaskom mlade generacije.
Abstract (english)
This paper discusses the occult-mystical short stories that Ksaver Šandor Gjalski appeared with in the late 19th century. Under the influence of Schopenhauer's philosophy and his own destiny, he dedicated his work to the questions of the human soul and life after death. The motives that most helped him were premonitions or hunches, dreams and dualism. In the same tone, he wrote several short stories, of which the most famous one is „Doctor Mišić's dream“ from 1890. In the later achievements he combined various mystical elements which he brought in his Doctor Mišić's dream for the first time, but through different storylines and different characters. With them he created a bridge between the old and the new time, bringing a breath of modernism into Croatian prose that will be most affirmed with the arrival of the young generation.
