Abstract
Broj jednoroditeljskih obitelji te samohranih roditelja u današnjem svijetu sve više raste. Kao uzrok tome navode se promjene u obiteljskim strukturama koje su posljedica promjena u društvu. Osim promjena u društvu, kao uzroci nastanka jednoroditeljskih obitelji, odnosno samohranih roditelja navode se i razvod braka, napuštanje obitelji od strane jednog roditelja, smrt jednog roditelja te izvabračno rođenje djece. Samohrani roditelji (majke) nalaze se pred mnogobrojnim čimbenicima koji mogu biti otežavajući te stvarati prepreke i probleme u roditeljstvu i roditeljskoj učinkovitosti. Osim otežavajućih čimbenika, postoje i oni čimbenici koji mogu zaštiti jednoroditeljske obitelji, odnosno samohrane roditelje, a to je njihova roditeljska kompetencija. U empirijskom dijelu rada prikazuje se istraživanje koje je provedeno s dvjema samohranim majkama koje su intervjuirane, stoga je cilj istraživanja bio utvrditi kako se samohrane majke nose s izazovima, teškoćama i preprekama na koje nailaze u svom roditeljstvu. U istraživanju su navedeni izazovi s kojima se susreću samohrane majke, njihov doživljaj balansiranja radne i obiteljske uloge, zatim kakvu potporu dobivaju od uže i šire društvene zajednice, kakva im je kvaliteta odnosa s djetetom te koliko su one same zadovoljne svojim roditeljstvom i roditeljskom učinkovitosti.
Abstract (english)
The number of single-parent families and single parents in today's world increases more and more every day. Changes in family structures, which are the result of changes in society are being mentioned as a result of increasing number of single-parent families. Apart from changes in society, we can also mention divorce, leaving the family by one parent, one parent's death and illegitimate child as a cause of single-parent families. There are many factors in front of single parents (mothers) which can make obstacles and problems in parenting and parental efficiency. Apart from aggravating factors, there are also factors that can protect single-parent families, and that factor is their parental competence. In the empirical part, research was conducted with two single mothers who were interviewed. The study showed challenges that mothers meet with, whether they balanse their working and family roles, what kind of support they get from a narrower and wider social community, the quality of relationship with their child and their satisfaction with parenting and parental efficiency.
