Abstract
Nakon prekida romantične veze, jedan od osjećaja koji se javlja je usamljenost. Možemo razlikovati emocionalnu usamljenost koja nastaje zbog manjka bliske emocionalne veze te socijalnu usamljenost koja nastaje kada osoba ne pripada socijalnoj grupi. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi kako sociodemografske karakteristike (rod, dob i status veze), karakteristike prekinute veze (kvaliteta veze, trajanje veze), karakteristike prekida (vrijeme od prekida, sudjelovanje u prekidu i uloga u prekidu) te privrženost (dimenzija anksioznosti i izbjegavanja) i socijalna podrška predviđaju te dvije vrste usamljenosti na uzorku osoba koje su nedavno doživjele prekid romantične veze. Istraživanje je provedeno online putem na uzorku od 184 žene i 64 muškarca. Provedena je multipla regresijska analiza, a rezultati pokazuju da ti prediktori objašnjavaju 60% varijance emocionalne usamljenosti i 40% varijance socijalne usamljenosti. Najsnažniji samostalni doprinos za obje usamljenosti ima socijalna podrška u negativnom, a zatim dimenzija anksiozne privrženosti u pozitivnom smjeru. Emocionalnoj usamljenosti dodatno pridonosi imanje novog partnera u negativnom te dimenzija izbjegavanja bliskosti u pozitivnom smjeru, a kod socijalne značajnim prediktorom se pokazao rod, gdje muški rod predviđa višu usamljenost. Ovo istraživanje pokazuje da osjećaju usamljenosti više doprinosi privrženost i percepcija socijalne podrške nego karakteristike veze i prekida. Dobiveni rezultati istraživanja mogu unaprijediti smjernice za terapiju osoba s iskustvom prekida veze i prepoznati osobe koje su u većem riziku od osjećaja usamljenosti.
Abstract (english)
Loneliness is one of the feelings following a relationship dissolution. There are two types of loneliness, emotional as a result of insufficient emotional connection with someone, and social which appears when people are not part of a social group. This study aimed to determine how sociodemographic characteristics (gender, age, relationship status), characteristics of a relationship (quality and duration), characteristics of a breakup (time since breakup, initiator status, certainty in the reason for a breakup), attachment (anxious and avoidance), and social support predict two types of loneliness in people that recently experienced a relationship dissolution. Participants were collected online and there were 184 women and 64 men. Results of multiple regression analysis showed that these predictors explained 60% of the variance of emotional loneliness and 40% of the variance of social loneliness. The strongest predictor was social support for both loneliness in a positive direction and the dimension of anxious attachment in a negative. In the case of emotional loneliness significant predictor was having a new partner in a negative and a dimension of avoidant attachment in a positive direction. For social loneliness, gender was a significant and positive predictor. This shows that for predicting loneliness, attachment, and social support are better predictors than characteristics of relationship and dissolution. Results can be used in an approach to helping young people deal with loss and loneliness and to spot at-risk people for feelings of loneliness.
