Abstract
Motive za gledanje filmova definiramo kao razloge zašto ljudi gledaju i preferiraju određeni tip filma dok neki drugi tip manje preferiraju. Istraživanja na ovu temu su proizašla iz istraživanja o korištenju glazbe i medijskih preferencija. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je provjeriti odnos između varijable roda, faceta otvorenosti prema iskustvu i usamljenosti s motivima za gledanje filmova. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 145 sudionika, a podaci su se prikupljali online anketom. Provedene su pojedinačne regresijske analize kako bi se provjerio odnos varijabli roda, faceta otvorenosti prema iskustvu i usamljenosti s motivima za gledanje filmova, a postavljene hipoteze djelomično su potvrđene. Rod, facete otvorenosti prema iskustvu, i usamljenost imaju značajan samostalni doprinos objašnjenju četiri motiva za gledanje filmova. Rod ima značajan negativan samostalni doprinos u objašnjenju gledanja filmova s elementima nasilja. Imaginacija ima pozitivan značajan samostalni doprinos gledanju filmova s elementima nasilja i gledanju filmova s ciljem bijega od realnosti. Osim toga, avanturizam ima značajan negativan samostalni doprinos bijegu od realnosti, intelekt ima značajne pozitivne samostalne doprinose gledanju filmova zbog traženja uzbuđenja i elemenata nasilja te negativan doprinos gledanju filmova s ciljem pronalaženja zabave. Usamljenost ima značajan negativan samostalni doprinos zadovoljenju socijalnih motiva prilikom gledanja filmova. U budućim istraživanjima bilo bi poželjno provjeriti doprinos faceta otvorenosti motivima za gledanje filmova kad su oni operacionalizirani isječcima iz filmova.
Abstract (english)
Movie-watching motives or film uses are defined as reasons why people watch and prefer certain movie types compared to others. Research on this topic has come out of research on media preferences. This study aimed to examine the relationship between sex, the facets of openness to experience, loneliness, and the uses of film. 145 people participated in the research, and the data were collected through an online questionnaire. Individual regression analyses were performed to examine the relationship between sex, openness to experience, and loneliness with film use, and the hypothesis was partially confirmed. Sex, facets of openness to experience, and loneliness contribute significantly to explaining four different uses of film. Sex has a significant negative independent contribution to the use of films containing violence. Imagination has a significant positive independent contribution to the use of films containing violence and escapism. Adventurousness has a significant negative independent contribution to escapism, while intellect has significant positive independent contributions to the sensation-seeking use of film and the use of film containing violence with a significant negative independent contribution to the hedonistic use of film. Loneliness has a significant negative independent contribution to the affiliation use of film. Future research could examine the relationship between openness to experience and uses of the film when uses of the film are operationalized by participants watching clips from actual films.
