Abstract
Die Größe Alfred Döblins manifestiert sich in seinen vielfältigen und eigentümlichen Möglichkeiten der Theoriebildung und des Umgangs mit verschiedenen Medien. Alfred Döblin war nicht nur ein bedeutender Schriftsteller, sondern auch ein Theoretiker der neuen Medien. Er erkannte früh die Möglichkeiten, die moderne Medientechniken wie Radio und Film boten, und setzte sich intensiv mit deren Potenzial auseinander. In dieser Arbeit wird zunächst Theoretisierung der Beziehung des Rundfunks und der Literatur Döblins und zwei anderer Akteure dargestellt. Danach wird die Theorie mit der Praxis verbunden, wozu ein Werk Döblins als Beispiel für seine vielfältigen Fähigkeiten genutzt wurde: sein Werk Berlin Alexanderplatz, der Roman, den Döblin später in ein für den Rundfunk geeignetes Werk umgewandelt hatte und somit eine bedeutende Rolle für das Hörspiel als eine neue Gattung spielte. Döblins Werk bietet ein wichtiges Beispiel für die Umwandlung der literarischen Erzählungen in das auditive Medium und zeigt die Komplexität der Umwandlung. Die Adaptation zeigte das Potenzial des Rundfunks, vielschichtige und anspruchsvolle Erzählungen darzustellen und beeinflusste so direkt die Entwicklung des Hörspiels als einer neuen ernstzunehmenden Kunstform
Abstract (english)
The greatness of Alfred Döblin is evident in his diverse and unique approach to theory formation and his engagement with various media. He was not only a significant writer but also a theorist of new media. Döblin recognized early on the potential of modern media technologies like radio and film and deeply explored their capabilities. This work first outlines Döblin's theorization of the relationship between radio and literature, along with that of two other figures. It then connects theory with practice, using Döblin's Berlin Alexanderplatz as an example of his multifaceted abilities. This novel, which Döblin later adapted for radio, played a crucial role in the development of radio drama as a new genre. Döblin's work provides an important example of transforming literary narratives into the auditory medium, showcasing the complexity of this conversion. The adaptation demonstrated radio's potential to depict layered and sophisticated narratives, directly influencing the evolution of radio drama as a serious art form.
