Abstract
U ovom diplomskom radu analizirani su turski frazemi i poslovice koji kao sastavnicu sadrže naziv za neku geografsku pojavnost. Frazemi i poslovice odražavaju kulturu nekog naroda, a na kulturu nekog naroda utječu brojni čimbenici među kojima se nalaze i prirodna obilježja prostora na kojemu taj narod živi. Geografske pojavnosti za koje su turski nazivi obrađivani u radu (more, jezero, potok, rijeka, planina, pustinja, šuma i brdo) važan su dio svake zemlje. Važan dio kulture koji se također očituje kroz frazeme i poslovice naroda jesu i njegova religijska uvjerenja. Osim toga neki frazemi i poslovice inspirirani su islamskom mitologijom te povijesnim događajima. Najveći broj frazema i poslovica sadrži sastavnicu u značenju 'planina' i sastavnicu u značenju 'more'. Simboli koje predstavlja svaka pojavnost su brojni. Planina uglavnom predstavlja izolirano mjesto bez civilizacije, dok more predstavlja veličinu i izvor prehrane. Potok i rijeka s druge strane su izvor života, tj. pitke vode, a šuma je osim simbola bujnosti i simbol društva.
Abstract (english)
In this master's thesis, Turkish idioms and proverbs that contain names for a geographic entities were analyzed. Idioms and proverbs reflect the culture of a nation, and this culture is influenced by numerous factors, including the natural features of the area in which this nation resides. The geographic entities the Turkish names of which were analyzed (sea, lake, stream, river, mountain, desert, forest, and hill) are an imporant part of every country. An important part of the culture that also helps in the formations of idioms and proverbs are religious beliefs. Furthermore, some idioms and proverbs have been influenced by Islamic mythology and historical events. Most of the proverbs and idioms contain either 'mountain' or 'sea' as one of their components. The symbols represented by each geographic entity are numerous. The mountain mostly represents an isolated place without civilization, while the sea represents magnitude and a source of sustenance. On the other hand, the stream and the river are a source of life, or of drinking water, and the forest is not only a symbol of lushness, but also of the society.
