Homosexual orientation has always been present, and therefore same-sex relationships. However, people in same-sex relationships still experience a great deal of discrimination and have poorer mental health than heterosexuals. The aim of the research is to examine the most common forms of perceived discrimination, the relationship between discrimination and stress, anxiety and relationship satisfaction in same-sex couples, and to determine whether anxiety and stress play a mediating role in the relationship between discrimination and relationship satisfaction. The results were collected through an online survey. 128 adult participants who are currently in some form of same-sex relationship took part in the research. The results suggest that participants mostly experience psychological violence and physical violence the least. No difference was found in the amount of total experienced discrimination with regard to the gender of the participants and the size of the city they live in. The total experienced discrimination and relationship satisfaction are not related, while there is a significant positive correlation between the total experienced discrimination and levels of stress and anxiety. Participants who experienced more discrimination have higher levels of stress as well as higher levels of anxiety. Considering the unsatisfied conditions, mediation analyzes were not conducted.
