Abstract
Svrha ovog rada je prikazati transformaciju nekih praksi koje sada pripadaju području popularne kulture, a svoj nastanak duguju pripadnicima radničke klase. Za transformaciju su odgovorni kapitalizam, globalizacija i ostali srodni procesi. Promjene su sve brže i češće kako se informacijsko društvo razvija. Nastojat ću približiti posljedice i okolnosti vezane za restrukturiranje tih procesa na primjerima iz nogometa, rapa i punka. Referirat ću se na uvjete koji su prethodili nastanku tih praksi i utjecaj koji su vršile tijekom i nakon što su prošle proces popularizacije. Popularizacija nogometa, punka i rapa se događala postepeno, a svoje korijene vuče od samih početaka globalizacije. Kako bih ponudio adekvatniji uvid u promjene koje se događaju na individualnoj i grupnoj razini koristit ću se pojmom distinkcije Pierrea Bourdieua, mekdonaldizacijom Georgea Ritzera, transkulturacijom Fernandoa Ortiza i kodiranjem/dekodiranjem Stuarta Halla. Za svaku od teorija ću ponuditi nekoliko primjera iz nogometa, punka ili rapa koji predstavljaju manifestaciju neke od teorija u stvarnom životu. Naposljetku, objasnit ću zašto postulati distinkcije u postmoderno doba gube na efektivnosti simboličkog svrstavanja u klase.
Abstract (english)
The purpose of this paper is to show the transformation of some practices that now belong to the field of popular culture, and owe their origin to members of the working class. Capitalism, globalization, and other related processes are responsible for this transformation. Changes are becoming faster and more frequent as the information society evolves. I will try to explain the consequences and circumstances related to the restructuring of these processes on examples from football, rap and punk. I will refer to the conditions that preceded the emergence of these practices and the influence they exerted during and after popularization. The popularization of football, punk and rap happened gradually, and its roots go back to the very beginnings of globalization. In order to offer a more adequate insight into the changes that are taking place at the individual and group level, I will use Pierre Bourdieu's notion of distinction, George Ritzer's McDonaldization, Fernando Ortiz's transculturation, and Stuart Hall's coding/decoding. For each of the theories, I will offer a few examples from football, punk or rap that represent a manifestation of some of the theories in real life. Finally, I will explain why the postulates of distinction in the postmodern era lose the effectiveness of symbolic classification.
