In today's modern world, it is generally agreed that human resources management is one of the key functions in the organization, which has an important strategic and developmental role for the company. It is clear that human resources play a major role in the recruitment of highly qualified employees, which is the main activity and responsibility of the human resources department within organizations. The aim of this paper is to clearly point out the connection between sociology and the human resources sector, that is, to examine the applicability of sociology in the human resources sector in order to obtain a sociological perspective of human resources management and to see its application in that sector. This work is focused on the research of sociologists who are employed in human resources and their application, understanding and implementation of sociology in everyday work duties in companies in the Republic of Croatia. After conducting semistructured interviews with sociologists employed in human resources within five different companies, the answers collected were analyzed. The research showed that sociologists who work in human resources know very little how to apply sociology in their everyday work or do not see the link with sociology at all. In conclusion, the research showed that graduated sociologists do not know how to use the science of sociology in the human resources sector and do not pay much attention to sociology in their work.
