Abstract
Cilj ovog rada bio je pružiti uvid u glavne probleme vezane za prevođenje poezije i predstaviti postojeće modele za prevođenje poezije. Prvo je predstavljen model Jamesa S. Holmesa, koji podrazumijeva četiri pjesničke forme koje prevedena pjesma može poprimiti na temelju prevoditeljevih odluka i prioriteta. Zatim je predstavljen model Andréa Lefeverea, koji se sastoji od sedam strategija za prevođenje poezije koje je uočio u različitim prijevodima Katulove pjesme 64. Holmesov i Lefevereov model zatim su primijenjeni u analizi izabranih hrvatskih prijevoda pjesama švedskog pjesnika Tomasa Tranströmera. Analiza prijevoda pokazala je da je prevoditeljica Sonja Bennet primijenila mimetičku i organsku formu prema Holmesovoj klasifikaciji. Pokušaj primjene Lefevereovih strategija pokazao je da se u analiziranim prijevodima mogu pronaći elementi pojedinih strategija, no nijedna strategija iz Lefevereova modela nije primijenjena u cijelosti na analiziranim prijevodima.
Abstract (english)
The objective of this paper was to provide an overview of the main problems of the translation of poetry and present the existing models for poetry translation. The first model presented was James S. Holmes’ four verse forms a translated poem can take on based on the translator’s choices and priorities. The second model presented was André Lefevere’s model, which consists of seven strategies for poetry translation identified by Lefevere in various translation of Catullus’ 64th poem. Holmes’ and Lefevere’s models were then applied in an analysis of selected Croatian translations of poems by Swedish poet Tomas Tranströmer. The analysis of the translated poems has shown that the translator Sonja Bennet applied the mimetic and the organic form as classified by Holmes. The attempt to apply Lefevere's strategies has shown that elements of certain strategies can be found in the analysed translations. However, none of the strategies from Lefevere's model was fully applied in the analysed translations.
