Leisure time represents an important space for development and action in the life of an individual and it appears as a universal need and phenomenon in all people. Children with disabilities when engaging in leisure activities often encounter obstacles and misunderstandings of society and the environment. Play is a basic child's activity and has an invaluable and multiple role in a child's life and development. The aim of this study was to examine how children with disabilities spend their leisure time and to gain insight into the experience and quality of leisure time of children with disabilities and types of play of children with disabilities. Mothers of children with disabilities participated in the study. The results of the study showed that children with disabilities spend their leisure time in various games and activities. When spending leisure time of children with disabilities, mothers carefully ensure that leisure activities are carried out in accordance with the interests and needs of the child. Toys and objects used by children enable leisure activities of a child with disabilities in accordance with the child's interests and needs. Information on the child's disabilities helps mothers to understand the possibilities and limitations of certain leisure activities. Aggravating circumstances and obstacles such as misunderstanding by the environment, the child's disabilities and the inadequacy of leisure activities make it difficult to achieve quality leisure time. Participation of children in games and leisure activities brings many positive changes and progress in the psychophysical state as well as in the socialization of children. Mothers are generally satisfied with the quantity and quality of leisure time, and some mothers state the need for additional leisure time activities that are adapted to children with disabilities.
