Abstract
Popularizacija turističke djelatnosti u Jugoslaviji započinje početkom šezdesetih godina nakon čega avionski promet neprestano raste pa se 1960. godine raspisuje natječaj za novu pristanišnu zgradu zagrebačkog aerodroma na kojemu je pobijedio arhitekt Josip Uhlik. Uhlik je projektirao stakleno-čelični paviljon, čiji je interijer opremio dizajner Bernardo Bernardi, a u svoje doba, bila je vrlo suvremena. Zgrada je bila predana na uporabu 1966. godine, no zbog daljnjeg povećanja broja putnika ubrzo slijede adaptacije i proširenja. Prva veća intervencija bila je već 1974. godine kada je realiziran novi putnički aneks čiji je autor bio sam arhitekt Uhlik, a zadnja zabilježena intervencija bila je proširivanje putničke zgrade 2013. godine. Godine 2017. otvorena je nova Međunarodna zračna luka Zagreb - Franjo Tuđman, sagrađena prema projektu arhitekata Branka Kincla, Velimira Neidhardta i Jure Radića za koju je natječaj bio raspisan još 2008. godine. Nakon otvorenja nove zračne luke, pristanišna zgrada arhitekta Uhlika izgubila je svoju funkciju, a njezina je budućnost postala neizvjesna.
Abstract (english)
Popularization of tourism in Yugoslavia began in the early sixties and since then the air traffic keeps on increasing. In 1960 the open tender for a new terminal was held, which architect Josip Uhlik won. Architect Uhlik designed the steel-glass pavilion and Bernardo Bernardi designed the interior. The new terminal opened in 1966; however, the passenger number still kept on increasing, so the building had to be extended multiple times. One of the first intervensions happened in 1974 when a new annex, whose author was architect Uhlik himself, was built. The last intervension was the terminal extension in 2013. An open tender to find the contractor of a new airport designed by Branko Kincl, Velimir Neidhardt and Jure Radić was held in 2008. The Franjo Tuđman Airport opened nearly ten years later, in 2017. Since the new Franjo Tuđman airport opened, the old terminal designed by architect Josip Uhlik is not in use and its future remains uncertain.
