Abstract
Osnovno je načelo narodne knjižnice osigurati pristup građi svim sudionicima zajednice, što naravno uključuje i osobe s poremećajima iz spektra autizma. Sve je više osoba s takvim poremećajem u našem društvu te je ključno da knjižnice pružaju programe i usluge osobama s poremećajima iz spektra autizma te da, također, sudjeluju u širenju svijesti u zajednici o svim poteškoćama na koje, tijekom svog života, nailaze osobe s poremećajima u spektru. U radu se iznose potrebe osoba s poremećajima u spektru autizma, njihova prava te obveze narodnih knjižnica prema njima kao korisnicima. U radu se također daje pregled programa i usluga koje razne narodne knjižnice diljem svijeta, ali i u Hrvatskoj, nude osobama s poremećajima iz spektra autizma. Naposlijetku je prikazano i iskustvo i voditeljice Knjižnice Jelkovec, Ive Klak Mršić. Naime, štićenici Centra za autizam Zagreb od 2013. godine tri puta tjedno dolaze u Knjižnicu Jelkovec na razne aktivnosti. Koristeći se Knjižnicom Jelkovec kao primjerom dobre prakse, cilj rada je potaknuti pokretanje sličnih programa i usluga u narodnim knjižnicama diljem Hrvatske.
Abstract (english)
The guiding principle of all public libraries is ensuring that all members of the community (which includes people with autism spectrum disorder) have access to library material. The number of people on the spectrum is on the rise in today’s society so it is vital that libraries provide programs and services to people with autism spectrum disorder and that librarians also contribute to raising the society’s awareness of all the difficulties people on the spectrum face throughout their lives. This paper states the needs of people with autism spectrum disorder, their rights and the duties that public libraries have towards them as their users. The paper, furthermore, includes an overview of programs and services that public libraries in Croatia and worldwide offer to people on the spectrum. Finally, the paper offers the experience of Iva Klak Mršić, manager of Jelkovec Library. Since 2013, people on the spectrum from Center for autism Zagreb have been visiting the library three times a week for different activities. The aim of this paper then is to encourage initiation of similar programs and services in public libraries throughout Croatia using Jelkovec Library as an example of good practice.
