Abstract
Tema ovog rada jest pokušati odgovoriti na pitanja: kakva je Lemova vizija uloge književnosti, odnosno kako on vidi znanstvenu fantastiku i koju ulogu ona ima u futurologiji. Kako bi se pronašao odgovor na to pitanje, treba se prvo skrenuti pažnja na Lemove poglede na književnost i uhvatiti nit Lemovog stila koji ga je proslavio, koji je nadahnuo mnoge pisce nakon njega i smjestio žanr znanstvene fantastike kao ravan i jednako vrijedan drugim, klasičnim književnim žanrovima. Glavne okosnice bit će njegova djela Summa Technologiae i Fantastyka i futurologia, dugi eseji u kojima Lem promišlja između ostalog i o književnosti, kao i dodatna literatura autora kao što su Jerzy Jarzębski i Darko Suvin i dr., kako bih stekla uvid u širi spektar znanstvene fantastike kao žanra i smjestila Lemovu viziju iste na taj spektar. Cilj rada je, odgovarajući na ova pitanja, prikazati Lemovu viziju književnosti i ulogu futurologije u znanstvenoj fantastici.
Abstract (english)
This thesis strives to answer the questions: what is the role of litearture according to Lem, how does he sees science fiction and the role it has in futurology. In order to answer these questions, it's important to explain the authors views on literature and the core of his famous style, which inspired the future generations of sci-fi writers and placed the genre of science fiction as equal to other, classical literary genres. This work focuses on "Summa Technologiae" and "Fantastyka i futurologia", collections of long essays in which Lem explains his views on various topics, including literature. In addition, the work utilizes auxiliary refrences of authorities on the topic, such as Darko Suvin, Jerzy Jarzębski et al., in order to place Lem and his works on the wider spectre of scienece fiction. The aim of this thesis is, by answering aforementioned questions, show Lem's vision of literature and the role of futurology in science fiction.
