Abstract
Would you make the same decision in your native language as you would in a foreign language? According to research, foreign language affects the decision-making process. This phenomenon is known as the foreign language effect (FLE). This thesis offers a theoretical background on foreign language processing, including psychological processes that trigger moral judgement and decision-making. The main goal of this thesis is to explore whether sequential bilingual speakers of Croatian and English tend to judge moral actions differently when reading moral scenarios in a foreign language. The participants were presented with moral actions in different scenarios, from every day and hypothetical situations to those that are extremely rare. In the moral dilemmas, regardless of the offense, the foreign language effect has been present to a certain extent.
