Abstract
O tema desta tese são os elementos autobiográficos na obra do romancista e jornalista português José Maria Ferreira de Castro (1898–1974). Utilizando a literatura recente e abrangente da teoria da autobiografia, Reading Autobiography: A Guide for Interpreting Life Narratives de Sidonie Smith e Julia Watson, o presente trabalho procura fazer uma breve introdução à autobiografia, aos elementos autobiográficos e ao modo como reconhecê-los. Segue-se a análise das obras selecionadas, focando-se principalmente na Selva e Emigrantes, em grande parte relacionadas com a vida do autor e com a grande ajuda da obra Ferreira de Castro. A sua vida, a sua personalidade, a sua obra do crítico Álvaro Salema.

Tema ovog diplomskog rada su autobiografski elementi u opusu portugalskog romanopisca i novinara Joséa Marie Ferreire de Castra (1898. – 1974.). Koristeći sveobuhvatnu i recentnu literaturu iz teorije autobiografije, Reading Autobiography: A Guide for Interpreting Life Narratives autorica Sidonie Smith i Julie Watson, ovaj rad donosi kratak uvod u sam pojam autobiografije te autobiografskih elemenata i načina njihova prepoznavanja. Nakon toga slijedi raščlamba odabranih djela s osobitim naglaskom na romane A Selva (Kaučuk: zeleni demon, preveo Dragutin Bišćan 1940. godine) i Emigrantes (Iseljenici, preveo Ante Rojnić 1940. godine), koji su izvor najvećem broju autobiografskih elemenata, uz veliku pomoć djela Ferreira de Castro. A sua vida, a sua personalidade, a sua obra portugalskog književnog kritičara Álvara Saleme.
