The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how well Zagreb City Libraries are adapting to working with a new technology – micro:bit. The thesis aims to illustrate the significance of organizing and implementing STEM workshops for demonstrating the use of micro:bit technology and BOSON education supplement kits. It also highlights the importance of educating librarians on raising awareness about using innovating technologies and how they can be employed in working with children at Zagreb City Libraries. For the purposes of the thesis, a series of interviews was conducted as part of a qualitative case study. The Mobile Library Service and the Silvije Strahimir Kranjčević Library participated in the case study. Results highlight the potential of implementing workshops and other continuous innovative programs with the use of new technology, which also acts as a micro:bit supplement. By actively participating in the organization and implementation of education programs and workshops, librarians and pupils are improving their work with new technologies and acquiring knowledge necessary for the future implementation of micro:bit and related technologies. The thesis also emphasizes the vital skills for librarians in the 21st century, whose efforts, along with the necessary technology, are essential for makerspaces to reach their full potential.
