Abstract
Učenički domovi imaju dugu tradiciju za smještaj učenika koji ne mogu pohađati nastavu u mjestu svojeg stanovanja te predstavljaju veoma često važan korak osamostaljenja djeteta od obitelji. Kako je u školskoj dobi obitelj i dalje veoma značajan faktor razvoja društvenih, emocionalnih, kognitivnih i motoričkih kompetencija kod djece, zadaća odgojitelja u učeničkim domovima jest preuzeti tu ulogu s obitelji i odgojiti djecu u zdrave, stabilne i uspješne odrasle osobe. Kako bi to ostvarili, odgojitelji u učeničkim domovima u svojem radu moraju primijeniti načela pedagogije, komunikologije, sociologije, edukacijsko-rehabilitacijske znanosti i razvojne psihologije te moraju stalno poboljšavati vlastite kompetencije i znanja koje potom zajedno s vlastitim iskustvom mogu koristiti za kvalitetniji doprinos boljem odgoju učenika unutar doma.
Abstract (english)
Student dormitories have a long tradition of accommodating students who cannot attend classes at their place of residence, which is very often an important step in the child's independence from the family. As the school age is still a very important factor in the development of social, emotional, cognitive and motor competencies in children, the task of educators in dormitories is to take this role with the family and raise children into healthy, stable and successful adults. In order to achieve this, educators in student dormitories must apply the principles of pedagogy, communication, sociology, educational-rehabilitation sciences and developmental psychology. They must constantly improve their own competencies and knowledge, which they can use together with their own experience home.
