Abstract
Ovim radom je obrađena tema koja je pokrila pitanje: koji su stavovi mladih prema narodnim knjižnicama. Teorijski kontekst se oslonio na koncept narodnih knjižnica kao mjesta djelovanja te su sagledani različiti teorijski pristupi u koje su narodne knjižnice bile svrstane da bi ih se stavilo u odnos sa društvom u kojemu djeluju. Koncepti koji su bili sagledani su sljedeći: knjižnica kao treće mjesto, knjižnica u javnoj sferi, knjižnica kao mjesto te knjižnica i društveni kapital. Unutar ovoga rada je provedeno i kvalitativno istraživanje na uzorku od dvanaest ispitanika. Uzorak su činili s mladi u dobi između 24-29 godina sa završenim visokoškolskim obrazovanjem. U radu se fokus stavlja na to imaju li mladi u današnje vrijeme razvijenu određenu naviku posjećivanju narodnih knjižnica i njegovanja usluga koja narodna knjižnica svojim korisnicima nudi. Primarni cilj istraživanja je bio dobiti uvid u stajališta mladih te njihovo viđenje o djelovanju koje narodnih knjižnica u današnje vrijeme. Također se sagledao i aspekt zadovoljstva uslugama koje narodna knjižnica nudi svojim uslugama i koje se potencijalne promjene mogu uvesti kako bi se potaknuo veći odaziv korisnika u narodne knjižnice u današnjem vremenu digitalizacije i napredne tehnologije. Rezultati istraživanja su upućivali da mladi sva manje koriste usluge narodnih knjižnica, pretežno zbog dostupnosti sadržaja napretkom tehnologije, te da se dodatnim marketingom i eventima knjižnica približi mladima da ih se potakne na čitanje i korištenje usluga knjižnica.
Abstract (english)
This paper deals with a topic that covers the question: what are the attitudes young people have towards public libraries. The theoretical context was based on the concept of public libraries as a place of action, and different theoretical approaches were reviewed in which public libraries were classified in order to put them in relation to the society in which they operate. The concepts that were considered are the following: the library as a third place, the library in the public sphere, the library as a place, and the library and social capital. Within this work, qualitative research was conducted on a sample of twelve respondents. The sample consisted of young people between the ages of 24-29 with completed higher education. The paper focuses on whether young people today have developed a habit of visiting public libraries and nurturing the services that the public library offers its users. The primary goal of this research was to gain insight into the views of young people and how they perceive the activities of public libraries today. The aspect of satisfaction with the services that the public library offers and what potential changes can be introduced in order to encourage a greater response of users to public libraries in today's era of digitization and advanced technology were also looked at. The results of the research indicated that young people use the services of public libraries less and less, mainly due to the availability of content due to the advancement of technology and that with additional marketing and events, the library should be closer to young people to encourage them to read and use library services.
