The globalization of today's society brings greater awareness of the importance of tolerance and mutual respect. Intercultural sensitivity is an ability that needs to be developed for society to progress, so members of society respect the differences between cultures and thus learn about their own. One of the ways to acquire intercultural sensitivity is to participate in academic mobility where students spend part of their studies in another country and learn about themselves and other cultures. Thus, the aim of this study was to examine student’s perception of the contribution of participation in academic mobility to their intercultural sensitivity. The study sample was convenient and consisted of 129 students and people who graduated from the university in the Republic of Croatia and previously participated in some type of academic mobility. The study also examined whether there are differences between students with regard to gender and age and the specifics of academic mobility (type of academic mobility, duration of academic mobility and frequency of participation in academic mobility) in their perception of the contribution of participation in academic mobility to their intercultural sensitivity. As a research instrument, a survey questionnaire was used, and it was conducted online. The results of the research showed that students largely believe that participation in academic mobility contributed to the increase of their intercultural sensitivity. The results obtained from the data analysis did not find statistically significant differences in the perception regarding gender, age, type and frequency of participation in academic mobility. A statistically significant difference was found in the perception of the understanding of diversity as a determinant of the intercultural sensitivity of the participants regarding the duration of academic mobility.
