Abstract
Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi odrednice stavova studenata prema induciranom pobačaju. Ispitivanje je provedeno sa 702 studenta (71.8 % žena), u dobi od 18 do 40 godina. Upitniku se pristupalo online, putem poveznice koja je podijeljena u studentske grupe na društvenim mrežama. U istraživanju su korišteni sljedeći mjerni instrumenti: Skala stavova o jednakosti rodnih uloga, Skala desničarske autoritarnosti, Skala stavova o induciranom pobačaju, Upitnik općih demografskih podataka te pitanja o iskustvu induciranog pobačaja bliske osobe i definiciji početka ljudskog života. Rezultati su pokazali kako studentice izražavaju statistički značajno pozitivniji stav prema induciranom pobačaju od studenata. Sudionici koji smatraju da život počinje začećem protive se induciranom pobačaju za razliku od onih koji smatraju da ljudski život počinje u kasnijoj fazi trudnoće. Sudionici koji poznaju blisku osobu koja je imala inducirani pobačaj skloniji su pozitivnijim stavovima prema pobačaju. U regresijskoj analizi ispitivani su doprinosi sljedećih varijabli: definicije početka ljudskog života, desničarske autoritarnosti, važnosti vjere, spola sudionika, političke orijentacije i stavova prema rodnim ulogama. Rezultati su pokazali da sve varijable statistički značajno doprinose objašnjenju stava prema induciranom pobačaju. Varijable definicije početka ljudskog života, desničarske autoritarnosti i važnosti vjere najviše doprinose objašnjenju stava o induciranom pobačaju, tako da sudionici s visokim rezultatima u tim varijablama iskazuju negativnije stavove prema pobačaju. Spol sudionika najmanje doprinosi objašnjenju stava prema induciranom pobačaju. Sudionici s „desnom“ političkom orijentacijom imaju negativnije stavove prema pobačaju. Pozitivnije stavove prema induciranom pobačaju imaju sudionici s egalitarnijim stavovima prema rodnim ulogama.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this research was to discover the impact determinants have on university students' attitudes towards induced abortion. The research was conducted on 702 university students (71.8 % women), ranging in age from 18 to 40. The questionnaire was available for access online, through a hyperlink which was shared in various student groups on social media. The following measurement instruments were used in the research: Attitudes Towards Gender Role Equality Scale, Right Wing Authoritarianism Scale, Attitudes Towards Induced Abortion Scale, Demographic data questionnaire and questions regarding previous experience of an induced abortion from a person close to the respondents and the definition of the beginning of human life. The results have shown that female students have a statistically significant more positive attitude toward induced abortion than the male students. Participants who consider that life begins with conception are opposed to induced abortion, unlike those who believe that human life begins at a later stage of pregnancy. Participants with a close person who had induced abortion are more inclined towards positive attitudes towards abortion. The contributions of the following variables were examined by the regression analysis: the definition of the beginning of human life, right wing authoritarianism, the importance of religion, the sex of the participant, political orientation and attitudes toward gender roles. The results showed that all variables statistically significantly contributed to an explanation of attitude towards induced abortion. Variables of the definition of the beginning of human life, right wing authoritarianism and the importance of religion had the greatest contribution on attitude towards induced abortion, so the high ranking participants in these variables express more negative attitudes towards abortion. The sex of the participant had the least contribution on the attitude towards induced abortion. “Right-wing” participants have more negative attitude towards induced abortion. Participants with more egalitarian attitudes towards gender roles have more positive attitudes towards induced abortion.
