Abstract
Hrvatski i poljski pripadaju slavenskoj jezičnoj porodici i smatraju se zato srodnima. Mnoštvo je leksičkih sličnosti između obaju jezika koje hrvatskomu govorniku omogućuju da pri prvomu susretu s poljskim riječima uspješno prenese njihovo značenje pomoću svojega znanja hrvatskoga. Pri prvomu se susretu, međutim, moguć i nepovoljan prijenos, značenje se može i zamijeniti značenja zbog toga što govornik spontano pomisli da je poznavanje značenja riječi u polazišnomu jeziku (hrvatskomu) dovoljno za razumijevanje riječi u ciljanomu jeziku (poljskomu). Osnovna je postavka ovoga rada opis leksičkih sličnosti i razlika pomoću kojih se događaju različiti prijenosi. Doseg rečenoga značenjskoga prijenosa s poljskoga na hrvatski i obrnuto, uspješnoga ili neuspješnoga, ovdje je predstavljen analizom strukture zapisanih leksema, čime se ustanovljuje razina leksičke prozirnosti. Rezultati su i kvantificirani kako bi se stekla opća predodţba o tome moţe li hrvatski polaznik nastave poljskoga jezika za početnike brţe naučiti poljski.
Abstract (english)
Croatian and Polish languages belong to the Slavic language family and are thus considered to be related. There are numerous lexical similarities between the two which enable Croatian native speakers to successfully transfer the meaning of Polish words on their first encounter through his/her knowledge of Croatian. The first encounter, however, entails the possibility of mixing up word meanings due to the fact that one already knows what the word means in his/her language of origin, i.e., Croatian. The goal of this paper is to describe the lexical similarities and differences by way of which such mechanisms come to pass. The extent of the said meaning transfer from Polish to Croatian and vice versa, be it successful or unsuccessful, is here presented by way of scrutinizing the structure of written lexemes and thus establishing the level of lexical transparency. The results are quantified to give general idea as to how likely it is for a Croatian student of Polish language beginner's course to learn Polish faster.
