Abstract
Den svenska deckaren blev populär under 1960-talet, som var folkhemmets rekordår. Folkhemmet var ett program som skapades av det socialdemokratiska partiet för att hjälpa sitt land att få social och ekonomisk trygghet under den stora depressionen på 1930-talet. Genren var en form av samhällskritik och uttryckte senare en nostalgi för folkhemmet. Detta dokument beskriver kortfattat folkhemmet, nämner de viktigaste dragen i genren och visar sedan dessa drag på en berömd svensk kriminalroman Män som hatar kvinnor av Stieg Larsson (2005).
Abstract (english)
Swedish crime fiction novel became popular durring 1960s (folkhemmet). The genre later nostalgically describes that period with an emphasis on the importance of improving society. With the characteristics of this kind of a novel, such as the psychological development and complexity of the characters, a different approach to the crime itself in a way to investigate why the crime happened and what led to it, and critique to the social injustice that can be found in everyday life, this genre became interesting and relatable to a broad audience. Those characteristics can also be found in a novel The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2005) by Stieg Larsson.
