Abstract
Kulturni fenomen književnih kružoka (meclisa) dio je klasične osmanske kulture, koji je vrhunac popularnosti dosegao u razdoblju od sredine 15. do ranog 17. stoljeća. Iako se na prvi pogled, zbog prisutnosti elemenata kao što su razgovor, poezija, glazba, ples, mirisi, hrana, piće i opijati, može činiti da se radi samo o vrsti privatne zabave osmanskih elita, književni je kružok imao više aspekata i svrha. Djelovao je kao raskrižje zabave, pokroviteljske umreženosti i političke legitimacije posredstvom sklapanja i jačanja interpersonalnih odnosa sudionika. U ovom će se radu, osim analize strukturnih elemenata književnog medžlisa te njegovih višestrukih funkcija i značaja, proučiti i povijesni kontekst njegovog nastanka i razlozi postupnog gubitka važnosti. Recitacije poezije, rasprave i međusobne interakcije sudionika književnih kružoka, zabilježeni u tekstualnim i slikovnim zapisima, dragocjen su povijesni izvor znanja o osmanskom društvu i kulturi klasičnog doba Osmanskog Carstva.
Abstract (english)
The cultural phenomenon of literary gatherings (meclises) is part of classical Ottoman culture, which reached its peak of popularity in the period from the middle of the 15th to the early 17th century. Although at first glance, due to the presence of elements such as conversation, poetry, music, dance, scents, food, drinks and intoxicants, it may seem that it is merely a type of private entertainment of the Ottoman elites, the literary gathering had many aspects and purposes. It acted as a crossroads of entertainment, patronage networking and political legitimation through the establishment and strengthening of interpersonal relationships among the participants. In this paper, in addition to the analysis of the structural elements of the literary majlis, and its multiple functions and significance, the historical context of its origin and the reasons for its gradual loss of importance will be studied. Recitations of poetry, discussions and mutual interactions of participants in literary gatherings, recorded in textual and pictorial records, are a precious historical source of knowledge about Ottoman society and culture of the classical era of the Ottoman Empire.
