This paper presents the function of the library of the Music school Pavao Markovac and will present an overview of its influence on the overall work and results of the Music School itself. First of all, the history of the Music school since its establishment in 1945 is covered, so that we can also talk about the history of the school library itself. The foundation of the library dates back to the foundation of the music school itself. It then talks about the development of the library's materials, its fund and instruments, and about its appearance even today. Furthermore, the role of instruments is presented, first through the presented share of students enrolled in the music school and then through the results of students who participated in the “HDGPP” and “Young Virtuosos: Etudes and Scales" competitions. Then the role of sheet music and audiovisual material and its positive influence on the students of the School of Music and on the school itself is presented. The paper describes the workshops of the library of the Music School Pavao Markovac in cooperation with other theoretical subjects, as well as the workshop of getting to know musical instruments. These workshops contribute to getting to know all the musical instruments that exist and are taught at the school and connect students with different knowledge about the history of music, composers and musical styles. The students want to be introduced to music in an educational and entertaining sense, without it being a mandatory school program, which contributes to the interest of the students. At the end of the paper, the evaluation of the library is presented and how its marketing competencies reflect on the well-being of the Music School Pavao Markovac. Valuing the school library can be seen not only in the high-quality music sheets and instruments, but also in the role of the librarian who takes care of it. A good librarian in a music school requires, in addition to knowledge of librarianship and musical art, managerial and marketing skills.
