Abstract
U teorijskom dijelu diplomskog rada opisala sam osnove mehaničkog valnog gibanja, zvučne valove i izvela sam izraz za brzinu širenja zvučnih valova. Slijedi opis stojnih valova, jer bez njihova razumijevanja ne bi bilo moguće izvesti pokuse i odrediti brzinu širenja zvuka pomoću Kundtove cijevi. Eksperimentalni dio diplomskog rada temelji se na radu njemačkog fizičara Augusta Kundta iz 1866. godine, koji je opisao metodu vizualizacije stojnih valova pomoću staklene cijevi. Služeći se njegovom metodom, izvela sam tri pokusa u kojima sam demonstrirala nastanak stojnih valova. Prvim pokusom odredila sam brzinu širenja zvuka u čeliku i u mesingu, na način kako je to originalno napravio Kundt. Zatim sam izvela još dva pokusa, izmijenivši Kundtov originalni postav eksperimenta, te sam odredila brzinu širenja zvuka u zraku. Na kraju rada dodala sam još i metodičku obradu nastavne jedinice Stojni valovi i zvuk, a koja se temelji na pokusima opisanim u radu.
Abstract (english)
In the theoretical part of this master thesis wave motion and sound waves were described, an expression for the speed of sound was derived and nature of standing waves was explained. Without understanding it would be impossible to perform experiments and determine the speed of sound using a Kundt’s tube. The experimental part of the thesis is based on the manuscript of German physicist August Kundt from 1866, in which he described a method of visualizing standing waves using a glass tube. Using his method, I performed three experiments in which I demonstrated the formation of standing waves. In the first experiment I determined the speed of sound in brass and in steel, in the way Kundt originally did. Then I performed two more experiments, changing the original Kundt's setup of the experiment, and the speed of sound in the air was determined. At the end of the thesis, I introduced the possible methodical approach to the teaching unit Standing Waves and Sound, which is based on the experiments described in the paper
