Abstract
Svijest i briga o utjecajima industrije polimernih materijala na okoliš glavni su čimbenici koji ubrzavaju razvoj novih biorazgradivih materijala. Upravo taj ekološki aspekt materijala rezultirao je time da prirodna vlakna postaju sve atraktivnijim predmetom istraživanja u kemijskom inženjerstvu, zbog svog velikog potencijala da zamjene klasična vlakna koja se koriste kao punila i ojačavala u polimernim kompozitima. Zbog svoje niske cijene i relativno dobrih mehaničkih svojstava te biorazgradljivosti pariraju konvencionalnim vlaknima kao što su staklena i ugljična vlakna. Čvrstoća koju polimernom kompozitu osiguravaju prirodna vlakna ovisi o međupovršinskoj adheziji između matrice i vlakna. Općenito, vlačna čvrstoća biokompozita raste s udjelom vlakana, do maksimalne ili optimalne vrijednosti, nakon koje čvrstoća opada. Youngov modul, s druge strane, kod kompozita ojačanih prirodnim vlaknima raste s povećanjem opterećenja vlaknima. U radu se istraživao utjecaj udjela rižinih ljuskica i mTiO2 na svojstva biokompozita SEM i DMA analizom i metodom bubrenja. Zaključno, određen je optimalni omjer rižinih ljuskica i LLDPE-a koji daje biokompozit s najboljim svojstvima materijala.
Abstract (english)
Awareness and concern about the impact of polymer materials on the environment are the main factors that accelerate the development of new biodegradable materials. It is this ecological aspect of the material that has resulted in natural fibers becoming an increasingly attractive subject of research in chemical engineering, especially due to their great potential to replace traditional fibers used as fillers and reinforcements in polymer composites. Due to their low cost and relatively good mechanical properties of biodegradability, they rival conventional fibers such as glass and carbon. The strength provided by natural fibers to the polymer composite depends on the interfacial adhesion between the matrix and the fiber. In general, the tensile strength of biocomposites increases with the fiber content, up to a maximum or optimal value, after which the strength decreases. Young's modulus, on the other hand, for composites reinforced with natural fibers increases proportionally with fiber loading. This paper investigated the influence of the mass percentage of rice husks and mTiO2 on the properties of biocomposites using the SEM and DMA analysis and swelling method. In conclusion, the optimal ratio of rice husks and LLDPE was determined, which constitutes a biocomposite with the best properties of the material.
