Abstract
Štetan utjecaj sintetičkih materijala na okoliš uzrokovao je sve veću potrebu za pronalaskom prikladnih zamjena takvim materijalima. Kao optimalno rješenje pokazao se škrob zbog svoje dostupnosti i niske cijene. Škrob, procesom plastifikacije, prelazi u polimernu kontinuiranu fazu zvanu termoplastični škrob (TPS). S obzirom da TPS posjeduje loša svojstva primjena mu je ograničena, te se danas intenzivno radi na poboljšanju njegovih svojstava. Radi poboljšanja svojstava, TPS se može miješati s različitim punilima ili drugim polimerima. U ovom radu istraživana su svojstva kompozita termoplastičnog škroba (TPS) bez i s punilom kalcijevim karbonatom, pripravljenim iz prirodnog izvora, ljuski jaja. Kompoziti TPS/CC pripravljeni su zamješavanjem u suspenziji tijekom priprave TPS polimera. Kao ishodni škrobovi korišteni su škrob pšenice, kukuruza, krumpira i tapioke. TPS/CC kompoziti pripravljeni su s 3, 6 i 9 % punila. Na uzorcima kompozita provedena su ispitivanja površinskih karakteristika, toplinskih svojstava, mehaničkih svojstava i morfologije. Dobiveni rezultati su pokazali da dodatak punila znatno utječe na toplinska, mehanička i površinska svojstva.
Abstract (english)
The harmful effects of synthetic materials on the environment have led to an increasing search for suitable substitutes for these materials. Starch proved to be the optimal solution due to its availability and low price. Starch, in the process of plasticization, transforms into a polymeric continuous phase called thermoplastic starch (TPS). However, due to its poor properties, its use is limited and intensive research is being carried out to improve its properties. Better properties can be obtained by blending TPS with various fillers or other polymers. In this work, the properties of thermoplastic starch (TPS) composites without and with calcium carbonate filler prepared from eggshells as a natural source were investigated. The TPS / CC composites were prepared by mixing in suspension during the production of the TPS polymer. Wheat, corn, potato and tapioca starches were used as starting starches. TPS/CC composites were prepared with 3, 6 and 9% fillers. The surface properties, thermal properties, mechanical properties and morphology were tested on the composite samples. The results showed that the addition of fillers significantly affected the thermal, mechanical and surface properties.
