Abstract
Ovaj rad je sažet pregled značajne uloge polimera u farmaceutskim formulacijama odnosno pripravi dozirnih oblika lijeka. Ističe se značaj reologije polimera u farmaceutskim formulacijama. Ispitano je reološko ponašanje polimera od velikog značaja u farmaceutskoj industriji. Testirane su vodene otopine poli(vinil-pirolidona), poli(etilen-glikola) i hidroksipropilmetilceluloze primjenom rotacijskog reometra. Uočeno je dilatantno ponašanje svih testiranih polimera. Uvid u reološko ponašanje polimera omogućuje bolji dizajn farmaceutskih pripravaka te kontrolirano oslobađanje djelatne tvari.
Abstract (english)
This thesis is a concise overview of the important role of polymers in pharmaceutical formulations, viz. in preparation of drug dosage forms. The importance of polymer rheology in pharmaceutical formulations is highlighted. Rheological behaviour was studied for polymers of high interest for pharmaceutical industry. The aqueous solutions of poly(vinyl-pyrrolidone), poly(ethylene glycol) and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose were tested using rotational rheometer. Dilatant behaviour was found for all tested polymers. Insight into the rheological behaviour of polymers enables better design of pharmaceutical formulations and controlled drug release.
