Abstract
Maser je uređaj koji proizvodi koherentne elektromagnetske (mikro) valove pojačavanjem stimuliranom emisijom. Začeci masera počinje 1950. godina potaknuti razvojem spektroskopije. Mnogima je maser poznat kao preteča lasera. Maseri su našli svoju primjenu kao oscilatori i pojačivači signala. U ovom radu će se raspravljati o povijesti masera, principu rada, o dvije vrste masera, plinovitom i čvrstom maseru, kao i njihovoj primjeni u znanosti i tehnologiji. Također se govori o njihovoj budućnosti.
Abstract (english)
Maser is a device that produces coherent electromagnetic waves through amplification by stimulated emission. The beginnings of the maser began in the 1950s with the development of spectroscopy. The maser is known to many as the forerunner of the laser. Maseri have found their application as oscillators and signal amplifiers. This paper will discuss the history of masers, their principle, the two types of maser, gas and solid-state masers, as well as their application in science and technology. It will also discuss the future of masers.
