Abstract
Sve veća proizvodnja i upotreba plastike, posebice polietilena i polipropilena, uzrokuje globalni problem uklanjanja mikročestica iz voda koji nastaju njihovom razgradnjom. S obzirom da one ne podliježu biorazgradnji njihova prisutnost nije zanemariva. Važnost uklanjanja istih leži u potencijalnoj toksičnosti za ljude te biljne i životinjske organizme, ali i ukupni ekosustav. Osim toga, zbog raznih kemikalija i aditiva koji se nalaze u njenom sastavu štetna je za okoliš te ga zagađuje. Teorijski se razmatra primjena već postojećih procesa koji su sastavni dio konvencionalnih ili naprednih tretmana obrade voda poput koagulacije i filtracije, uz promatranje učinka i elektrokoagulacije na uklanjanje mikroplastike iz voda. Cilj ovog rada je dati teorijsku podlogu o metodama koje se eventualno mogu primijeniti za uklanjanje mikročestica polietilena i polipropilena iz vode te parametrima koji utječu na djelotvornost pojedinog procesa.
Abstract (english)
The growing production and usage of plastics, especially polyethylene and polypropylene, causes the global problem of removing microparticles from water which arise by their degradation. Since they are not subject to biodegradation, their presence is not negligible. The importance of removing them lies in the potential toxicity to humans, plant and animal organisms, but also to the entire ecosystem. In addition, due to various chemicals and additives that are components of plastics, plastic waste is harmful to the environment and pollutes it. The application of already existing processes that are an integral part of conventional or advanced water treatments is theoretically considered, such as coagulation and filtration. The effect of electrocoagulation on the removal of microplastics from water is also observed. The objective of this study is to provide a theoretical basis for a methods that can possibly be used to remove microparticles of polyethylene and polypropylene from water and the parameters that affect the efficiency of each process.
