Abstract
Tema rada je primjena solvatokromnih bojila u kemijskim optičkim senzorima s naglaskom na mehanizme detekcije. Ion-selektivni optički senzori sa solvatokromnim bojilima kao pretvorničkim elementima predstavljaju unapređenje klasičnih ion-selektivnih optoda s H+ kromoionoforima. Primjena solvatokromnih bojila omogućuje izradu pH neosjetljivih ion-selektivnih optičkih senzora. U radu su opisani mehanizmi detekcije ion-selektivnih optičkih senzora sa solvatokromnim bojilima. Izložen je pregled literature vezan uz trendove razvoja senzora. Eksperimentalno je izrađen i ispitan senzor sa solvatokromnim bojilom 3,3'-diheksadeciloksakarbocijanin perklorat (DiOC16(3)) na papiru kao supstratu osjetljiv na ione kalija. Potvrđena je neosjetljivost na promjenu pH u rasponu 1-10, određena je kalibracijska krivulja, područje osjetljivosti i vrijeme odziva optode. Senzor omogućava određivanje koncentracije kalija u intervalu od 3,16∙10^-2 M do 1 M u nepuferiranim otopinama te pokazuje dobru reverzibilnost. Vrijeme odziva optode kraće je od 3 minute.
Abstract (english)
The topic of the thesis is application of solvatochromic dyes in chemical optical sensors, with emphasis on detection mechanisms. Ion-selective optical sensors based on solvatochromic dyes can be viewed as upgrades of conventional ion-selective optical sensors that are based on H+ chromoionophores. The application of solvatochromic dyes leads to sensor pH insensitivity. Detection mechanisms of ion-selective optical sensors with solvatochromic dyes are described in work. A literature review related to sensor development trends is presented in the thesis. A potassium sensitive sensor with solvatochromic dye 3,3'-dihexadecyloxacarbocyanine perchlorate (DiOC16(3)) was fabricated on a paper substrate and experimentally tested. Insensitivity to pH in the interval 1-10 was confirmed. Calibration curve, sensitivity range and sensor response time were determined. The sensor allows the determination of potassium concentrations in the range from 3.16∙10^-2 M to 1 M in non-buffered solutions and shows good reversibility. The sensor response time is less than 3 minutes.
