Abstract
Polimerizacija je kemijska reakcija u kojoj monomeri, međusobnim povezivanjem kovalentnim vezama preko funkcionalnih skupina, tvore molekule polimera, makromolekule. O vrsti ponavljanih jedinica ovisi da li će nastati homopolimeri ili kopolimeri. Homopolimeri nastaju reakcijom istovrsnih monomera, dok kopolimeri nastaju reakcijom dvaju ili više različitih monomera. Reakcijom kopolimerizacije naziva se istovremena polimerizacija dviju ili više vrsta monomera u istoj reakcijskoj smjesi. Cilj ovog rada je sinteza kopolimera dodecil-metakrilatai 2-N-morfolinoetil-metakrilata te izračun omjera kopolimerizacijskih reaktivnosti. Radikalskom kopolimerizacijom u otopini sintetiziran je kopolimer poli(dodecil-ko-2-morfolinoetil-metakrilat) (DDMA/2NMEM) različitih molnih udjela komonomera (90/10; 80/20; 70/30; 60/40; 50/50; 40/60; 30/70; 20/80), do niskih konverzija. Kao inicijator korišten je tert-butilperoksi-2-etilheksanoat. Priređenim kopolimerima određen je sastav, a također su izračunati brzina reakcije kopolimerizacije i omjeri kopolimerizacijskih reaktivnosti monomera. Sastav kopolimera određen je 1H-nuklearnom magnetskom rezonancijom (1H-NMR) iz površine karakterističnih signala. Nađeno je da sastav kopolimera vrlo malo odstupa od sastava početne smjese monomera. Omjeri kopolimerizacijskih reaktivnosti izračunati su linearnom metodom prema Kelen-Tüdősu i nelinearnom metodom po Tidwell-Mortimeru. Vrijednosti omjera kopolimerizacijskih reaktivnosti monomera su razmjerno bliske i približno jednake jedinici pa je kopolimerizacija bliska idealnoj, s tim da je nešto veća reaktivnost 2-N-morfolinoetil-metakrilat monomera.
Abstract (english)
Polymerization is a chemical reaction where monomers, reacting to each other with covalent bonds via functional groups, are forming the polymer molecules, macromolecules. Whether will arise homopolymer or copolymer depends on the type of repeated units. The homopolymers are formed by reaction of the same monomers, while the copolymers are formed by reaction of two or more different monomers. A copolymerization reaction is called the simultaneous polymerization of two or more different monomers in the same reaction compound. The aim of this work is the synthesis of dodecyl methacrylate and 2-N-morpholinoethyl methacrylatecopolymers and determination of monomer reactivity ratios. Copolymer of poly(dodecyl-co-2-N-morpholyno-methacrylate) (DDMA/2NMEM), with different mole fractions of monomers (90/10; 80/20; 70/30; 60/40; 50/50; 40/60; 30/70; 20/80;) was synthesized, to low conversions. Tert-butylperoxy 2-ethylhexanoate was used as initiator. Prepared copolymers were characterised in order to determine copolymer composition, initial polymerization rate and copolymerization reactivity ratios. Copolymer compositions were determined by 1H nuclear . magnetic resonance (1H-NMR) from integrals of characteristic signals. It has been found that the composition of the copolymer deviates very little from the initial composition of the monomer compound. The reactivity ratios of copolymerization were determined by linear Kelen-Tüdős method and non-linear Tidwell-Mortimer method. The values of the copolymerization reactivity ratiosof monomers are relatively close and approximately equal to one so copolymerization si close to ideal copolymerization, with a slightly higher reactivity of 2-N-morpholinoethyl methacrylate monomer.
